- The Black Corruption: A magical corruption that curses spellcasters and infects their magic and enchanted items, turning wizards into dark witches and magical items into cursed items, all serving one dark, mysterious goal.
- Osticara, the Dark Fever: An infection among women that corrupts both body and mind, manifesting first as sensual hunger and later as black bile emanations and madness in worship of her, leaving them capable of unspeakable acts in her name.
- The Walking Death: A disease of madness and decay that causes victims to believe there is nothing wrong with them, all the while their limbs atrophy and their hair and teeth fall out. Transmission is difficult, but victims recruit–or seize–new “acolytes”.
- The Forest Plague: A corruption of trees and vines that gives them horrible and murderous life with a thirst for blood, spreading slowly from wood to wood and blighting the land with dark terror.
- The Dark Sylph: Once a graceful wind spirit, now bound by a forbidden pact, her form is a shifting cloud of smoke and shadow that corrupts the air she moves through, suffocating life wherever she drifts.
- Bog Fury: A bizarre disease that compels victims to throw themselves into bogs, where they rise as undead bog folk. Some say that in the darkest bog there lives a Bog King.
Cursed Magical Objects

- The Mask of Eternal Night: A sorcerer who donned an ancient, cursed mask that bound him to the shadows, transforming him into a living nightmare to spread darkness and despair across the land. Struck down more than once, the mask merely found another mad wizard to wear it.
- Lord Agrivor & the Blade of Hunger: A once-noble warrior who, after wielding a cursed sword that devours the souls of its victims, became a hollow, undead overlord, eternally seeking more souls to feed the weapon’s insatiable hunger and haunted to land, leaving a path of destruction and despair.

- Tree-Ann Bitterberry: A halfling stolen by dark fae creatures at birth and raised among them as their princess, now a wicked and mercurial ruler of a tiny kingdom, executing those who displease her at a whim.
