This is a board game played on an 8×8 grid, such as a checkerboard. Players alternate placing pieces in an attempt to make 3s-in-a-row.
There are two colors: white and black. White goes first.
Setup
One player holds one piece of each color in each hand, and the other player chooses a hand; this determines which color the chooser will be and therefore who goes first.
Each player gets eleven of each of three kinds of pieces, such as A, B, and C or small, medium, and large, in their color.
Play
White goes first, placing an A piece anywhere on the board. Black does the same. Next, white places a B piece and black follows. Then white places a C piece and black follows.

Winning
Play repeats in this A, B, C cycle until one player has made five 3s-in-a-row orthogonally (as a rook moves) or diagonally (as a bishop moves). These only count if they are the same type and color: AAA, BBB, or CCC.

Four or more pieces in a row count as only one 3-in-a-row.
