Finery Treasures You Can Roll up

Category:

Most medieval treasures weren’t just chests full of gold and silver coins. They were exotic items of fine craftsmanship. My treasure system consists of paltry, small, medium, and large… or 1, 2, 3, and 4. Finery is treasure type F.

Levels

Peasants’ personal possessions might be worth 1d6 gp altogether due to low quality, age, and wear. Most commoners might own (but not always have on them) one item of level 1 finery. Town merchants might have shoes, gloves, belt, cloak, and outfit at level 1, except for one that’s at level 2. A prosperous merchant or member of the gentry might bump that to level 2 with one thing at level 3. A baron or bishop might have all at level 3 while an earl has all at level 3 except for one or two at level 4. A royal or archbishop would be covered in finery at level 4.

To have finery made from materials (particularly monster parts) you already have, the cost is half the final value but takes weeks for fine-quality and months for luxury-quality items.
